NCAAF has engineered the worst of all models.
In most pro sports, the top teams bump into salary caps, accelerated defections via free-agency, and lower slotting in the drafting of new players. This helps preserve a sense of parity and interest with teams having mobility from season to season.
NCAAF is like the big 4-5 US Tech giants and the winner-takes-all lifecycle. The playoff system started the downward trajectory, but NCAAF has now managed to be less interesting than the NFL. Who really cares to see next year's playoff between Bama, LSU, Ohio State. BORING.
